How-To Install a Bulkhead Panel
Tools Required
- Ladder
- Drill
- Safety Glasses
- Ear Protection
- Drop Saw
- Tradesman Stand
- 45mm Screws
Key Tips
- Measure twice, cut once!
- Bulkheads can be made from cabinetry panels, with mitred corners. Or, they can be made from MDF, and painted to match your wall colour. MDF bulkheads can be mitred, or butt joined.
- If you are using mitres and your product is single sided, make sure you mitre the right angle, with the short side of the mitre at the back.
- When installing, slowly move the bulkhead back into place. It will continue to stand upright wedged between the cabinet and the ceiling.
- If the gap between the cabinet and the ceiling is over 300mm, you may need to secure timber blocks for support, to stop the bulkhead panel fallng backwards during installation.
